Kinder School

  Kinder School : Overview

In 2000, the K1 program was started here and there were only 3 K1 classrooms, we have now grown to have 11 K1 classrooms.

The KinderSchool was established in 2003 to encourage and nurture learning in all early childhood students. There are currently 436 students in the KinderSchool.  There are 11 K1 classrooms (pre-k) and 9 K2 classrooms.
In 2007, the Kinder School was awarded Best of Boston, one the top ten preschools in the city of Boston. We were also featured in The Boston Courant, a local newspaper that featured our KinderSchool for its accomplishments.

We believe that strong foundations in the areas of sensory-motor, oral, language, literacy, mathematics, creative arts and social emotional development opens the doors to a lifetime of positive growth and development.  Our KinderSchool staff is committed to the collection, analysis and implementation of the best, research based instructional strategies for inspiring young minds to reach outstanding achievement. Instruction in all subject areas is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Teachers and administrators are actively involved in Professional development that supports the delivery of scientifically researched instruction that is assessment driven.  The KinderSchool program is designed to meet the diverse learning of multi-ethnic and multi-lingual students that it serves.

Although the classrooms are split up between the 2nd and the 5th floors, teachers continue to be a constant support to one another a day to day basis.  Teachers meet weekly to discuss curriculum and check in with one another.  All teachers are willing to go above and beyond on a daily basis to help one another.

Teachers find joy in the small triumphs that children accomplish. We work to build a strong foundation of good people. We work to build children’s self-esteem and social, emotional confidence. We want our children to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments. The KinderSchool provides a safe-haven for all children.  We want children to feel safe and loved while they are with us each day.
